Two whimsically destructive and creative girls both named Marie wander their world playing pranks. This film is visually stunning, playing with colors, patterns, and outfits in a unique, artistic manner. Considered a feminist film, Daisies explores the role these two Maries take on to tamper with society. With a partially abstract plot, this film is a fun frolic through the Czech New Wave movement. Upon its release in 1966, the film was immediately banned by Czech government. We picked this film because the instant we finished watching it for the first time, we wanted to rewatch it. It is so strange and playful, you're never entirely sure what's going on.
