Tim Burton's full-length feature film directorial debut, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, is the story of a rebel and  his bike. Loosely based on Vittorio De Sica's 1948 Italian neorealist film The Bicycle Thief, follow Pee Wee (Paul Reubens) as he searches for the love of his life, his beloved bicycle. When the bicycle is stolen, Pee Wee hitchhikes across the country and the zany adventures ensue. The film features cameos by  Tim Burton, Phil Hartman, Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson, James Brolin, Morgan Fairchild, Dee Snider and Milton Berle. Co-written by Paul Ruebens and the late, great Phil Hartman.
