The Cruise is a documentary that follows an eclectic tour guide, Timothy "Speed" Levitch, through the city of New York. Keep a sharp ear, because Levitch talks at the speed of light, spewing philosophies on life, love, history, and architecture. Levitch has a way of being hilarious and thought provoking as he narrates bus tours through Manhattan. He exemplifies his theory of "cruising" through life, avoiding "anti-cruise" obstacles and thriving in NYC with just a suitcase, meager paychecks, and his impeccable words. Levitch is often referred to as "Woody Allen on coke" which seems accurate. His refreshing bitter New-York-Jew humor acts as a great catalyst for his tour. One of my favorite scenes involves Levitch rambling about all of the people who have wronged him in his life to his therapist, the Brooklyn Bridge. Whether or not you are connected to New York City, this movie will make you experience the city in a whole new perspective.
