5th Ave Cinema strongly encourages all filmmakers to use original or copyright free music for their soundtracks, however 5th Ave Cinema does not enforce that filmmakers use copyright free music. Films created for 5th Ave Cinema are seen as non-profit educational projects. Using copyrighted music can greatly reduce your opportunities for further distribution or broadcast so it is best to use music that is original or in the public domain. If under 18, entrant and their parent or legal guardian must sign a release form.
While all due care and attention will be exercised, the 5th Ave Cinema cannot accept or assume responsibility for damage or loss of materials submitted, either while in possession by 5th Ave Cinema and/or its staff, or while on route through the mail.
Visuals Film Festival reserves the right to disqualify any submissions for profanity, gratuitous violence, or discrimination to race/gender at the sole discretion of the 5th Ave Cinema reviewers. Films must meet a certain quality standard. 5th Ave Cinema reserves the right to decide which films are featured and entered into the Visuals Film Festival.
By submitting your film to the festival, you are granting 5th Ave Cinema non-exclusive rights to retain an archive copy of your production for the non-profit purposes of promotion and education.
There are two award in the Visuals Film Festival, audience pick and film committee pick. Both winners receive a trophy and a 50 dollar gift certificate of their choice (it can be fore anywhere that does not serve alcohol).
